NyxNet is built on the principle that your messages belong to you. This policy explains how we handle your data β the short version is: we collect as little as possible and encrypt everything we can.
Information We Collect
NyxNet requires only a wallet address or social login to create an account. We do not collect phone numbers, email addresses, or government-issued IDs. When you use NyxNet, we process: your public wallet address as your identity, encrypted message ciphertext for delivery, and basic connection metadata (IP address, timestamps) needed to operate the service.
End-to-End Encryption
All messages, media files, and calls are encrypted on your device before transmission using AES-256 and X25519 key exchange. The NyxNet server only ever receives and stores ciphertext. We cannot read your messages, view your media, or listen to your calls β even if compelled to do so.
Data Storage & Retention
Encrypted messages are stored on our servers to enable delivery and sync across your devices. You can delete your messages at any time, and we will remove them from our servers. Account data is retained for the duration of your account and deleted upon account deletion. We do not create advertising profiles or share data with data brokers.
Third-Party Services
We use Particle Network for wallet-based authentication. Their processing of authentication data is governed by their own privacy policy. We do not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising networks, or tracking services into the NyxNet application.
Data Security
Beyond end-to-end encryption, we protect our infrastructure with industry-standard security measures including encrypted databases, network isolation, regular security audits, and strict access controls. Our server architecture is designed so that a server compromise would not expose message content.
Your Rights
You can export your data, delete your messages, or delete your entire account at any time from within the app. Upon account deletion, all associated data is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.
Changes to This Policy
We will notify users of significant changes to this policy through the app. Continued use of NyxNet after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
